Christian Louboutin design men shoes

Watch the womenswear shows during fashion week, and red soles can be seen flashing up and down the runways — but the footwear in the menswear shows is rarely paid a second look.
This season, however, may tell a different story. Young designer Marlon Gobel is planning to collaborate with none other than Christian Louboutin on the footwear for his men’s Fall 2011 collection, to be debuted during New York Fashion Week in February. As to how, exactly, the cobbler favored for his sky-high heels decided to take the plunge into men’s runway shoes: Gobel apparently caught Louboutin’s eye when he put his lone female model in a pair of the designer’s red soles last season. Louboutin was such a fan of the collection as a whole that he offered up his shoes for the next go-around, on the men.
Gobel, naturally, was thrilled, writing on his Facebook page, “Simple, Transformative and Elegant! Now it’s your turn guys to make them see red. Thank you, Mr. Louboutin!”
thom Browne and Michael Bastian alum Marlon Gobel might only be three seasons into his own collection, but he’s got friends in high places.
In fact, Gobel is collaborating with world-famous shoemaker Christian Louboutin for his Fall 2011 collection. Gobel’s models will wear shoes from Louboutin’s men’s line on the runway in February at New York Fashion Week–a first for the cobbler, who is predominantly known for his sky high heels.
Last season, Gobel used a pair of Louboutin heels for his only women’s look. Christian loved Gobel’s style so much that he offered to outfit the boys for Fall 2011. “It’s amazing,” Gobel tells Fashionista. “His shoes are transformative and elegant.”
Gobel is yet another rising star making New York Fashion Week a must-visit for menswear editors across the globe. “I think having a show in New York is so important, especially for a men’s designer!” he says. Menswear gets no love or glamor. A show tells a story, gives a fantasy.” Well, this newbie is certainly contributing to menswear’s rising reputation, one red sole at a time.
